Our Patient Group

The Eden Surgeries Patient Group provides the conduit through which the Practice and the local community work together to shape the services and service levels that the Practice offers.

Made up of a representative cross-section of patients from within the Practice boundaries and headed by an elected Chairman and Secretary, the group meets regularly to review practice performance, discuss issues raised from within the patient community, and to assess the best ways for the Practice to meet community needs.

The group is owned and led by the patient community with Eden representatives invited to attend.

Key Achievements to date

The patient group reformed after the pandemic in September 22, and these are some of the key achievements since then -

Telephony - Patient feedback highlighted a high level of disatisfaction with the functionality of the Eden telephony platform. So the Practice introduced a new system that improved call routing and patient call back options, leading to significantly reduced call waiting times

Dispensary - The group raised the issue of unacceptable prescription waiting times and general operational inefficiencies. The Practice carried out a full operational review and restructured the Dispensary to ensure a max 72 hour prescription turnaround, regularly achieving inside 24 hours.

Taking Health to the Community - to support particular patient groups it was suggested that the practice hosted health related events across the community to help educate particular patient groups. Subsequently the Practice has organised a series of dedicated Women's menopause evenings and Mens health talks, a 'getting the most out of the NHS app' event, with a series of other specialist events in the pipleine.
