Covid Boosters

Available for over 80’s

Wednesday 6 October and Thursday 7 October 2021 at The Stansted Surgery.

These are pre-bookable appointments. To book, please call 01279 818057 or 01279 818058

BOOSTERS need to be 6 months/24 weeks after your second covid vaccine.

We will message our eligible patients on the 1st of October.

Covid Vaccine update:

Its great news that the Oxford AstraZeneca Covid vaccine has been approved. We would kindly ask our patients not to contact us in the meantime, but As soon as we know when we are scheduled to get the vaccination we will be in touch with our patients accordingly.

Ordering of Prescriptions:

As from 1st June 2021 you will no longer be able to order a repeat prescription over the telephone.

To order a repeat prescription you will either need to do this online or leave your repeat slip in black post box located outside of the surgery door.

We urge all patients to join online services if they have access to a smartphone/ipad/PC etc.

We will only accept telephone orders from housebound patients or those who have previously discussed this with us.

To gain access to online services please speak to a member of the reception or dispensary team.

Whilst coronavirus is infectious to children it is rarely serious. If your child is unwell it is likely to be a non-coronavirus illness, rather than coronavirus itself.

    Transport offer for Essex residents unable to get to Covid-19 booster appointments

    People living in Essex, who have no means of transport, can now get help to attend pre-booked appointments. People who are struggling to attend their booster jab appointment because of transport issues can now get help from Essex County Council. The Essex Wellbeing Service is now able to organise transport for Essex residents who are finding it difficult to organise a way to attend their vaccine appointment. Transport will be provided by taxi service. This service is free of charge and can also be used if you need transport to get to your first or second dose appointments. Essex residents who would like help getting to their appointments can email provide.essexwellbeing@nhs.net or call 0300 303 9988. The phone line is open Monday to Friday from 8am to 7pm and from 10am to 2pm on Saturdays. Callers’ need will be verified, and they will be asked to provide their booking reference or a screenshot of their appointment confirmation. Cllr John Spence, Cabinet Member for Health and Adult Social Care said: “We don’t want anyone to be left behind in receiving their Covid-19 booster jab. “If getting to an appointment is an issue because someone doesn’t have access to transport for whatever reason, please don’t hesitate to call or email the Essex Wellbeing Service. “Book your appointment and contact them, it’s so important that everyone is protected.” Alternatively, in some areas of Essex there are Community Transport routes which residents without transport can contact directly.     Flu vaccinations

    We have been advised by our flu vaccine supplier that there is a national shortage of under 65 flu vaccinations. When we received our delivery last month we were short by 420 vaccines. Although we have ordered more, the rest of our supply is not going to be delivered until week commencing 29th November. So we have no option but to cancel some of our flu vaccination appointments tomorrow. We apologise for this as we know you are keen to have them, but unfortunately this is totally out of our hands. We will hold another clinic on Saturday 4th December when we have the remainder of our flu vaccine delivery. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Welcome to the website for Eden Surgeries at Hatfield Heath and Hatfield Broad Oak. We are a progressive practice located near the Essex / Hertfordshire border.  

New patients can register and existing patients who have signed up for SystmOnline can book some types of appointments and request repeat medication. 

The practice aims to provide the best possible health care for patients in a friendly and efficient environment. Our continuing development is very important to us and we welcome comments and feedback in all areas of our service. Practice History

The Practice was founded by Drs John and Kate Bennison in 1959.  It was originally based in their house in Hatfield Broad Oak, and was combined with a mobile surgery which they drove around the villages. The first surgery in Hatfield Heath was built in 1968 and was replaced with the present building in 1990. When the Drs Bennison retired in 1988, the practice at Hatfield Broad Oak moved into temporary accommodation and  then moved again to Cannons Lane in 1989. Over the years, the number of patients we serve has increased from 700 to over 9000.
